The owner and Head Instructor is  Sensei Gino J. Bovo. A 4th Degree Black Belt who has been involved in the martial arts since 1982.
He has trained under Sensei Chris Pappas, of  “Pappas Stingray Karate Systems”. Mr. Bovo has been a Black Belt since 1987, and an instructor since 1990. He is a member of the Eastern U.S.A. Martial Arts Association and has been inducted into the U.S.A.  INTERNATIONAL BLACK BELT HALL OF FAME. He has participated in numerous competitions and has twice placed in the top five in the P.K.R.A. (Pennsylvania Karate Rating Association) state rankings 3rd in 1992 and 2nd in 1996 both in Mens Black Belt Open Forms division.
Mr. Bovo has also been an off ice trainer for the Mario Lemieux hockey camp for children, as well as other local youth sports organizations.


​Assistant instructor Joe Watson has earned black belts in Judo, Jujitsu, Kenpo Karate and Shotokan Karate. A student of the arts since 1979 he is a member of the Eastern USA Martial Arts Association, “team USA” and the Eastern representative of the International Kojosho Karate Federation. Sensei Watson has competed and trained all over the US, Canada and Costa Rica “medaling” in numerous tournaments including World Championships in 2008-2011.

​With the help of Sensei Joe Watson, we have incorporated Judo, and Jujitsu into our program. Sensei Watson is a Judo and Jujitsu Black Belt, from the world famous,
Wally Jay's Island Judo school, of

Alameda, California.


Sensei Dave Mondine is our youngest instructor. He has been involved in martial arts since 2003 and has earned a Second Degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate. Sensei Mondine holds awards in multiple competitions, including the 2011 Irish Cup in Dublin Ireland, as well as 1st place in 2 divisions at the Kojosho International Martial Arts Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This young instructor brings excitement and energy to the martial arts.
